Dave Karpf is an Assistant Professor in the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University. He is the author of The MoveOn Effect: The Unexpected Transformation of American Political Advocacy (Oxford University Press, 2012). He teaches and conducts research on the Internet and political associations/advocacy/activism. Prior to entering academia, he served as National Director of the Sierra Student Coalition (1999-2000) and spent 6 years on the Sierra Club Board of Directors (2004-2010).
Dave has a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Pennsylvania.
